A Great Idea!

The modest title of this entry really doesn’t do it justice. I wish I could take credit for this great concept, but I fear that it has been around far longer than I have; and that’s a long time! It’s an idea I read about as a youth, but really didn’t take the time to investigate its validity. Presidents, heads of state and captains of industry have used it. Of course, I speak of the highly valued power nap. Let’s not confuse this valuable tool with those who would just sleep their lives away. The power nap is short and strategic. I have read that shortly after lunch is a good time to utilize this tool. Find a comfortable position, be sure the room is warm. Soft music is optional. Do not allow this recess to last longer than thirty or forty minutes. You will return to work refreshed and energized with the ability to work far in to the night as I am doing right now. Try it! You’ll be a new person! … You are welcome.

My New Discovery!

Since you, my dear reader, are a member of a small but important group who reads Jolly Rollie’s blog, I’m going to share my latest discovery with you. It’s not quite on the level with chocolate but then, what is? Nevertheless, it’s way up there!

First, I must explain that we eat our larger meal at noon; this leaves room for a smaller offering at the end of the day. I have found the joy of eating oatmeal for supper! Just imagine! A piping hot bowl of oatmeal with plump raisins invitingly swimming around. Then, the crowning touch…The cinnamon on top. Oh, the joy of it all!

My only worry is, now that the word is out, everyone will be trying oatmeal. The price of oatmeal will go up, and I’ll no longer be able to afford it. Oh well, that’s the chance I take.

Let's say "No!" to abortion.

An item in the news caught my attention yesterday. It mentioned the serious neglect of animals in the Phoenix area. I’ve had three dogs in my lifetime, and enjoyed them a lot; so this news saddened me. The fact that some people are actually intentionally mean to animals is a real shame. I have heard that those who are mean to animals are eventually very mean to other human beings. In other words, meanness to animals is the first step to problems with fellow humans.

Stories like this one get plenty of attention in our media; but sadly, no attention is given to the more important subject of the killing of unborn humans. It is time to stop this barbaric practice. Young women must be made aware that adoption is readily available for them, and they must appreciate the value of the life they carry within them.
